Selective licensing now covers six Harrow wards

Selective licensing now covers six Harrow wards

Edgware, Roxeth, Greenhill, Marlborough, Wealdstone North and Wealdstone South introduced selective licensing during 2026, with penalties for unlicensed landlords of up to £40,000. Landlords letting through our Private Sector Leasing (PSL) scheme are exempt from licensing fees where the applicable council arrangement provides for this.

Common questions from Harrow landlords

Common questions from Harrow landlords

Do I need a selective licence if I lease through Help2Let?
Landlords letting through our Private Sector Leasing (PSL) scheme are exempt from licensing fees where the applicable council arrangement provides for this. Ask the team about your ward when you enquire.

How quickly will I be paid?
On average around 6 weeks from sign-up to first payment; as little as 10 days for properties in good condition. Once the lease starts, the first payment is usually made within 14 days.

What are the property requirements?
Self-contained, unfurnished, clean and safe — with a valid Gas Safety Certificate, EICR, and an EPC rating of D or above for PSL.

How long is the lease?
The standard PSL lease is 2 years; up to 5 years may be available where grants or incentive payments apply.

Do I get my property back?
Yes — vacant possession at the end of the lease, with a joint hand-back inspection.

What does it cost?
Help2Let charges no administration, management or commission fees. As the owner you remain responsible for normal landlord obligations like repairs and safety certificates.
